
<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html charset=windows-1252"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space;">Hi All,<div><br></div><div>I’m a new member to the webmaster-dev mailing list. My name is Paul Pounder, from the UK. I’m predominantly a PHP developer, but recently moving into node.js.</div><div><br></div><div>I have been following the progress of Popcorn for a while now, and have been interested whether it could be used for content creation in learning management systems, replacing the likes of Captivate etc.</div><div><br></div><div>I am currently building a Learning Management System using node/express etc for UK Primary Schools. There is a real lack of sharable resources for teachers in the UK and felt that Popcorn would be perfect for allowing teachers/students to create content, and make available in the LMS I am building.</div><div><br></div><div>At the moment I am using oAuth 2.0 for authentication as this is required for xAPI (<a href="http://www.tincanapi.com">www.tincanapi.com</a>), the latest method for recording learning activities. I see that Webmaker is using Mozilla Persona.<br><br>I do have a couple of questions, I would love to be able to give teachers a way of building resources sharable within my LMS only using Popcorn Webmaker. Is there anyway of being able to limit who can see the ‘makes’? Obviously I’d want to be able to group the teachers resources together and make available for just those users in the LMS. Or would you recommend deploying popcorn.webmaker on my own servers to do this, if this is allowed?</div><div><br>Also is there a way of being able to use oAuth 2.0 for authentication? I appreciate why Persona is used. I’m assuming there would be quite a large amount of work to replace the authentication system if I were to try this myself, again, if this is allowed?.<br><br>Kindest regards,<br><br>Paul Pounder</div></body></html>
