In Webmaker we have a number of people learning Git and GitHub for the first time. Turns out they're hard, and it's easy to get frustrated and give up. At the same time, there are a number of us who know them well, and could provide support.

The usual thing that happens is that people start recommending various docs or tutorials on the web, or try to write their own. I have no interest in doing more of this, as there are literally thousands already.

Instead, I'm going to facilitate a weekly club on Vidyo where people can drop-in and come talk about git and github, ask questions, see people do things, and generally have a safe forum to ask any and all questions.

There is no obligation to come every week. I've put the details in this etherpad:

https://etherpad.mozilla.org/gitclub

Each Friday I'll check that pad for things we could cover. If you run into something during the week, or have a situation, drop it in that pad.

There's a lot of hype about Git and GitHub and how great they are. It's all true :) But getting to the point where you don't feel like a total idiot using them can take time. Let's put some time into it together.

If you're interested, see you Fridays.
