I was thinking about whether it might be useful to create a weekly or bi-weekly GitClub (patent pending on that name, btw...). What I mean by this is that I see lots of chatter around the foundation like this, where people want to get going on git and github.
My experience teaching students to this is that it's a pretty steep vertical climb when you're beginning, and many people give up in frustration.

We could do a thing where we have a short show-and-tell, or all-questions-answered style thing on vidyo or irc on a regular basis, and people can ask questions or see short demos of things, without being made to feel dumb.

If that's interesting, I'd be happy to lead some of them and get the ball rolling.

Hello,

I'm determined. I'm committed. How I get set up so that I can contribute small design and text tweaks on stuff that you guys are building?

Any resources you guys know of for designers getting started with github? I am a pretty good test use case for a contributor starting from pretty much zero. Feel free to use me as such!
