Since it’s Flickr and you’ll be pushing it out to a lot of people, isn’t loading a full 3D engine a bit heavy?

A VR viewer is a single cube in 3D (cube faces) or a single sphere (equirectangular).

Recommend you use webvr-polyfill from the boilerplate and trim the libraries down.
