Transparency folks. During the election process I asked who
worked for Mzla, apparently that is not something that the
community is privy to, privacy was the reason offered. The actual
numbers of staff or what they are employed to do was also not
forthcoming other than vague generalities.<br>
What are the roles of the board Vs Council? <br>
Mzla corp has a board apparently managing it. What is the actual
function of the council? Or has it outlived it's usefulness?<br>

We finished settling in and discussed strategy with the MZLA board

- Ryan was re-elected as treasurer.
<br>

<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/careers/">https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/careers/</a>
<br>
- We will renew employment-related contracts.
<br>
- There are ongoing discussions on performance reviews and their
<br>
connection to compensation.
<br>
- There are discussions about exit interviews and sendoff
procedure
<br>
for employees that leave the project.
<br>
<br>

<br>
- There are discussions about sponsoring tech/privacy podcasts as
<br>
part of the donation drive.
<br>

<br>
<br>
MZLA/Thunderbird-Relationship and Strategy:
<br>
- We met with the MZLA board; they oversee the project to ensure
that we
<br>
comply with the law and don't cause dangerous liabilities.
Within
<br>
these bounds, the board follows and fully supports our
leadership.
<br>
- Mozilla and the MZLA board want to learn from and preserve
<br>
Thunderbird's community-driven open-source nature.
<br>
- The MZLA board is vested in Thunderbird's success and willing to
<br>
provide their time, expertise, network and other resources.
<br>
- There were some preliminary discussions to formalize the working
<br>
relationship between board and council.
<br>
- There were some preliminary discussions about council workload
and the
<br>
potential of employees in executive positions.
<br>
- We will first have an internal meeting to discuss overall
vision, and
<br>
invited the MZLA board to later strategy meetings to help us
<br>
implementing it and give feedback on what's legally possible.
<br>
<br>
Communication / Transparency:
<br>
- We have not yet received a lot of feedback for Council;DR.
<br>
- We aim to publicly discuss project vision on tb-planning.
<br>
- A meeting with the CPG team has been scheduled for week 51.
<br>
<br>
Miscellaneous:

<br>
"We" is the council speaking in the name of the Thunderbird
project.
<br>
<br>
Some aspects may be missing or intentionally vague, as the council
works with confidential information that cannot be shared with the
public.
