<p>Yes corporations have boards. MZLA board members are Mark Surman
(MoFo), Angela Plohman (MoFo) and Brian Behlendorf (Linux
Foundation). Appointed by the owner of MZLA, the Mozilla
Foundation. <br>
</p>
<p>As stated below the board oversees the project, handles the
legalities involved with running a company, and ensures the
council acts within legal boundaries.</p>

worked for Mzla, apparently that is not something that the
community is privy to, privacy was the reason offered. The
actual numbers of staff or what they are employed to do was also
not forthcoming other than vague generalities.<br>
What are the roles of the board Vs Council? <br>
Mzla corp has a board apparently managing it. What is the actual
function of the council? Or has it outlived it's usefulness?<br>

We finished settling in and discussed strategy with the MZLA
board – now we're ready to develop a vision to base future
strategy decisions on. <br>

- We're in donation drive! Spread the word. <br>
- There are discussions about sponsoring tech/privacy podcasts

- We plan to publicly release a financial report within 2020. <br>

MZLA/Thunderbird-Relationship and Strategy: <br>
- We met with the MZLA board; they oversee the project to ensure
that we <br>
comply with the law and don't cause dangerous liabilities.
Within <br>
these bounds, the board follows and fully supports our
leadership. <br>
- Mozilla and the MZLA board want to learn from and preserve <br>
Thunderbird's community-driven open-source nature. <br>
- The MZLA board is vested in Thunderbird's success and willing
to <br>
provide their time, expertise, network and other resources. <br>
- There were some preliminary discussions to formalize the
working <br>
relationship between board and council. <br>
- There were some preliminary discussions about council workload
and the <br>
potential of employees in executive positions. <br>
- We will first have an internal meeting to discuss overall
vision, and <br>
invited the MZLA board to later strategy meetings to help us <br>
implementing it and give feedback on what's legally possible.

Communication / Transparency: <br>
- We have not yet received a lot of feedback for Council;DR. <br>
- We aim to publicly discuss project vision on tb-planning. <br>
- A meeting with the CPG team has been scheduled for week 51. <br>

Miscellaneous: <br>
- There are discussions about the software and services used for

internal council workflows. <br>
