<p>IMO both of your statements are inaccurate, at least with respect
to the current council. Furthermore, we sometimes vote on and
even make motions by email. To ignore the majority of email would
be irresponsible. <br>

<p>It is true that the bare minimum is show up for meetings. I
submit that a board member who only does that and nothing more may
be a poor representative for their constituency. <br>

<p>The board, as currently constituted does, and must do, a lot of
work. There are often subgroups and projects that require time
and energy of its members out side of regular meetings. </p>
