<p>We recently successfully moved from IRC to matrix for real time
comms. It's time to think about the next step.<br>
</p>
<p>Back in June I had a conversation about what Mozilla planned for
mailing lists and such, because we have so many spam subscriptions
(and I suspect email harvesting) of our several mailing lists.
It's also burdensome for administrators to deal with all this
trash. tb-planning is such a list. This is what he had to say. <br>
</p>
<p>"The goal is that private or confidential mailing lists [mailman,
etc] will become private google groups, and that public
discussions will be moved to Discourse. Discourse has both
classic interaction options (mail, rss) as well as the web, and
between algorithms and community diligence has much better spam
filtering as well."</p>
<p>I'm not sure of the current time line, but would think they will
do this before the end of calendar year.</p>
<p>We don't need to decide immediately, but we do need to make plans
to get off of mailman in the next few months and on to something
else. <br>
