Hello Thunderbird Community,

With the new year, the Council has been discussing the quality of
Thunderbird and how we might develop better practices to ensure a
high quality piece of software.

Part of the effort involved in producing a quality Thunderbird is
to triage incoming bugs to detect regressions, common enhancement
requests which we might consider later, and "popular" bugs which
should receive a priority so they can be addressed quickly, as
well as tracking regressions. Additionally, depending on staffing
and contributors willing to do it, there could also be more
extensive pre-release and post-release testing.

What does the community think about this? My bet is that there are
ideas and opinions within the community that could help us improve
in this area, so I thought I would kick off the discussion.
Important in this conversation is sharing ideas and processes that
could actually drive this forward versus just focusing on things
you see that are wrong or don't like.
