Financial
<br>
<br>
* Noted that the donation figures are not yet in for July, 2019.
<br>
<br>
Hiring & Staff
<br>
<br>
* HR matters were discussed.
<br>
<br>
Governance
<br>
<br>
* Discussion about under what circumstances an add-on would be
shipped with Thunderbird (due to the current issues with the
Google Provider for Calendar add-on).
<br>
* For history, Lightning is the only "true" add-on shipped with
Thunderbird. (The WeTransfer code is also shipped as an add-on for
technical reasons.)
<br>
* It was recently brought to attention that the Google Provider
Calendar add-on is included in the source tree of Thunderbird
(comm-central, etc.) but is not shipped with Thunderbird. It has
recently received some attention from staff to keep it up-to-date
even though it is a "third-party" add-on.
<br>
* Two motions were passed to clarify that new third-party add-ons
will not be shipped with Thunderbird without Council approval
unless the code being an add-on is for a technical reason (e.g. a
filelink provider).
<br>
* Discussed what to do about the Google Provider for Calendar,
eventually came to a conclusion that the Council would work with
the author to remove it from the source tree.
<br>
<br>
Legal
<br>
<br>
* The topic of telemetry and any privacy concerns was tabled until
a further meeting.
<br>
<br>
Council Member Updates

legal matters
