<p>I also think it would be a great idea to see the landing page
within Thunderbird (with the big logo) to distinguish it from
the many other email clients that look similar? It just seems
that the more software is streamlined for the modern world the
more it looks the same.</p>

I'd suggest defaulting to Windows, as that is the desktop OS that
the vast majority of users and wouldbe users of Thunderbird will
