Same here on overly harsh restriction of monetization. I am not
saying no change though, but let's discuss this carefully. I for
one am opposed to any form of data mining in an Email desktop
client (because avoiding data mining is one of the key reasons
for keeping emails stored locally), but other forms of
monetisation (even advertisements, as much as I hate this form)
should still be allowed under the allowed "opt-in" features.</p>
<p>Full disclosure: I sell annual licenses for premium versions of
my Add-ons and this is advertised whenever the Add-ons are
updated. As I am aware that too much advertisement has the
opposite effect and may even cause users to uninstall I have
pace the amount of that myself. I also give the option of
turning off these. I also have "donate" buttons in my options
dialogs.<br>
