Bug 1016027
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1016027
Please land this patch by TB60ESR

2. Two-lined message pane, as every other mail Client has.
Especially in Vertical View, it makes the message pane much more
readable.
The Monterail theme article[1] illustrates Thunderbird as a modern
Email Client. All screenshots at “That Slick Thunderbird Mockup?
It’s Now a Real Theme (Updated)” show Thunderbird in the Vertical
View.
Is someone able to provide the Thunderbird Bugzilla Ticket on this
feature request? Thank you
Please land this patch by TB69ESR

3. Mobiles are converging to become just as powerful as
Desktop/Laptop computers with mobiles being able to run complete
desktop operating system. For example LibreM[2].

4. Address Book Rewrite

a) Please rewrite the default address book to interface with TB core
using APIs
APIs are important tools for fast, inexpensive experimentation, and
must be easily discoverable, well documented and accessible via
self-service.
eg. Bug 1336357 - Address Book source of ‘Contact’ in ‘Quick Filter’
[3]

b) Convert the default address book to an add-on, similar to the
Lightning add-on
Enable other add-on be be able to completely replace the default
Address Book add-on, eg CardBook[4], ExQuilla[5], etc.

5. Contact Photos showing on email header

6. Bundle Thunderbird with more Office suites (eg. LibreOffice),
similar to how Thunderbird is bundled with SoftMaker Office[6]

7. Reduce the technical debt in Thunderbird

8. Support and promote open-source, open-standards
WhatsApp is freeware but closed-source, i.e. a walled-garden.
Helping people use WhatsApp in Thunderbird could not be considered
helping them move to freedom because of WhatsApp being a
walled-garden. Investment and development should not be provided by
Thunderbird; however, the WhatsApp owner FaceBook could provide an
add-on.
Would GNU Ring[7] would be a better option for Thunderbird to
support and promote freedom as GNU Ring is based on open-source,
open-standards and preserves the users’ privacy and freedoms?

9. Better internationalization support
Bug 235312 - Support for UTF-8 mail server hostnames and email
addresses in account settings[8]

10. Able to Connect to Microsoft Exchange Server[9]

Thank you
