I'm at best peripherally a member of the project, but for what it's
worth, I'd probably rate the idea as about a 2.

I like the idea of using bird names for these, but I don't recognize
either of those as being a bird name. Once it's pointed out that they
are, I can vaguely recall having heard of a type of bird called a
bunting, somewhere in something I read once - but I can't bring anything
more about it to mind than that, and I'd never heard of an avocet at all
before I saw it suggested for this purpose.

I approve of the idea in general, but I think those are bad names to
choose; they simply aren't anywhere near to sufficiently universal
recognition as being types of birds.
