Thunderbird 17 issue cause by McAffee add-on

hi gents,

Just wanted to highlight the fact that we have multiples reports of
slowness and unresponsive issue which seems to be caused by McAffee add-on
(McAfee Anti-Spam Thunderbird Extension, version 2.0) and also real time
attachment scanner...

What is the normal way to solve this problem?
Could we disable this add-on for all users as it is not reliable?
Do you have any direct contact with MacAffee in order to provide a quick
solution?
