We've never really got around to implementing a process for featured 
extensions on Thunderbird. AMO does have a featured add-ons board for 
Firefox:

I would be willing to support a Thunderbird equivalent and/or see if we 
can integrate into Firefox's board somehow. If people can email me 
direct to show interest, I'll start asking some questions.
