recording and replaying the kernel through qemu

qemu can already run with a gdb server to debug the kernel but it's
often useless for me because using breakpoint will have timing issues (I
work with the cifs networked filesystem).
It would be nice to somehow record what the vm does in qemu so it could
be replayed again. How hard to implement would this be?
