Hi Everyone,

The Chicago blizzard has pushed out our Rochester work. I head to Nashville this weekend for our first round of in-person interviews for the Task Continuity research. As a result, I do have a lot on my plate right now, but I can try to do a quick test this week if I can get some feedback from all of you on the following. Otherwise, I will either be in the field or in analysis until at least mid-March.

Test Proposal:

I will show participants on UserTesting.com a generic login screen. It will have two fields labeled username and password. I will then ask participants what they would call this set of information. I'll gather open feedback first, offer a multiple-choice list second, and then ask a few follow-up questions. How does that sound?

Terms (for multiple-choice):

Password information

Login information

Account information

User information
Sign in information

Others?

Recruiting:

Who do I need to test this with? I'm assuming an open call on UT is fine, but let me know if you feel strongly that this needs to be tested with people using a specific browser, OS, or device format. (Unfortunately, UT doesn't allow me to recruit a mix of participants, so the stricter the profile, the more work for me to set up individual tests. That's fine, if necessary.)

Thanks!
Gemma

On Tue, Feb 3, 2015 at 6:14 AM, Karen Rudnitski <krudnitski@mozilla.com> wrote:

Gavin - this is low effort with high benefit. We did it to test the 'second
screen' terminology and it was a matter of days.
Even if Gemma doesn't get to it for a couple of weeks, I can't imagine we
would be needing to make that change before we can get this valuable
feedback. It would validate the direction one way or another and reduce the
cycles we're having here.

Gemma - could you let us know what it would take to run a terminology test
based on the thread below? Similar to the second screen one you did for us
not that long ago.

Could you also let us know if there are other resources in the company that
could help organize this activity or how else it could be run based on your
current workload?

Thanks,
Karen
I think we have higher priority things to test with our limited (awesome)
user research resources.
