I have checked via about:config to see that JavaScript is enabled in Nightly ; i e, javascript.enabled has the value «True», but still no joy.<div> This on a machine running 64-bit Linux Mint 18.2 (I haven't dared to test it on Windows 10 Pro). Clicking the button to run Gmail in basic HTML works, but I much prefer the standard view. Encouraged by it, I decided to try updating Nightly on my 64-bit Windows 10 Pro (version 1703) box, but for some strange reason it has refused to install the (64-bit) 2017-08-08 update ; the closest I come is yesterday's version, i e, that for 2017-08-07 (did not, however, have any difficulty updating the standard version of FF to 55.0).
