to be fair, refreshing (especially ctrl-f5) is the first step in figuring out if the problem is on the user's end or the site's end. With that said with over a billion users and refresh rarely working I don't think youtube is at fault here (at least not this time) and since I can not recreate the problem I don't think this is a nightly issue either. One way to see is try using standard firefox, does it still happen? Try using IE, does is still happen. If it happens on IE it is a problem with your computer or your network, if it doesn't happen on IE and only firefox it is possible that you got some theme or greesemonkey script or
even some malware that is interacting with youtube whether purposely or
not, so of course run a scan and a fresh firefox profile (or safemode) after all that if clean firefox without any addons still doesn't work, I would say something got corrupted when you installed firefox and do try and reinstall it, and I mean a very fresh reinstall. Clear out your registry after installing it on windows and remove any files left over- or use a third party uninstaller. On linux use purge.

Hanry I realize this is what you complained about, but these are STANDARD debugging steps, which some people who might just be starting out might not know or remember. This does solve most problems and if problems are solved by this then reporting it as a bug is a waist of resources. However it is expected that people do respond with their testing results and then we can go from there.

BTW, if you can remember when something started happening and what changes you were doing around that time, that is important to note as well- even if you don't remember doing any changes that is still important.
I dunno. I think Henry does have a point (although almost none of us could
be considered Mozilla _representatives_). We do usually follow through with
a bug filing if it's a genuine problem, though.
Food for thought.
