Fwiw, on my Ubuntu machine over here, the thumbnails are also populated. Even the https ones after clicking on the rectangles.<br>

Figured I'd chime in too. I'm on OSX (which is spiffed up UNIX) and i'm seeing the rectangles populate fine. Some secure websites don't display thumbs, true, but it does work.<br>
