<br>The problem I've seen is a slight delay while typing in Gmail (messages and chat). That is, I type and 2 or 3 seconds go by till I can see the letters I've typed. I could notice this even opening Firefox every day. It's not happening now though. But it did some days ago when I was chatting with you about the Galaxy S2 phone they've sent me, remember? And it had been happening before then too.<br>

In the last few weeks several Firefox Aurora/Beta users have reported problems where they experience slight pauses while scrolling or typing in text boxes. This has been primarily been reported on Mac OS X while using Firefox 10 (currently in Beta) and so far people have not been able to reproduce the problem on Firefox 9 or earlier.<br>

So far it has been very difficult to come up with steps to reproduce, and it has been very difficult to isolate the problem to a specific change in Firefox code, or specific sites, or specific add-ons. We have been testing with at least two profiles affected, and in some cases the problem seems to get worse while opening multiple tabs with Google sites, sometimes Twitter, but there seems to be some type of user interaction needed before we see the type of unresponsiveness that we are investigating. It may take several hours or a few days of use before it's in a really unresponsive state.<br>

Please let us know if you have seen general responsiveness problems, typically slight pauses, for example while scrolling or typing or opening new tabs. Make a note of the Firefox version you are using, roughly how many tabs and windows are open, the types of add-ons, and which sites you are visiting when this happens. If you restart your browser often, say daily, you may not see this problem.<br>

You could also monitor the garbage collection and cycle collection durations by going to the preferences in about:config, toggling the preference javascript.options.mem.log to true, and opening the Error Console (Messages tab), and noticing the GC total and CC durations. Anything in the order of thousands might be an indication of this problem.<br>
<br>
We still don't know what's causing this nor how many people could be affected by this, but it seems to happen on Mac and on builds after Firefox 9.<br>
