</div>'Reinstalling Windows' is one of those simple solution that does not<br>
solve the original problem. 'Something' is causing your problem and it<br>
might, if you do what ever it was that caused this,again it will just<br>
come back. Better, IMO, to find the problem and solve it by eliminating it.<br>

These issues I can not relate too but, for example, I am currently<br>
watching a CBS streaming video Of Friday nights CDS-NY and Firefox<br>
11.0a1 is using 208+ K.<br>

My *guess* (note the word) would be that something else is running and<br>
causing this problem. I, personelly, have to really hammer on Firefox<br>
(which I do from time to time) to get anywhere near what you say that<br>
you see on a regular basis. Do you use a 'virus scanner' that looks at<br>
everything all of the time? That activity, while it can be helpful can<br>
slow things down and be memory hogs.<br>

As can third party 'task bars' and 'helper's. I use Gmail also and it<br>
does *not* cause problems such as you describe.<br>
