Could you be a little bit more descriptive than "update was not working"?<br></blockquote><div>I had a similar experience on Tuesday/Wednesday on Win64 Nightly build on Windows 7 and previously on the 32-bit build for the same OS. Here's what I noticed:<br>
<ul><li>Help -> About Nightly no longer produced an update check below the "9.0a1 (YYYY-MM-DD)" string. I've had this happen on some previous builds so I just downloaded and installed the entire latest build from <a href="http://nightly.mozilla.org">nightly.mozilla.org</a></li>
<li>After the above install completed, starting Nightly produced a UAC prompt from updater.exe (normal, not an issue). However, the updater reported thereafter that the update process failed for an unknown reason (not exact words, but to the same effect) <- bug?</li>
</ul>However, after the above failure, Help -> About Nightly returned "Nightly is up to date" and updating has worked just fine since. From what I've noticed, this seems to happen if you miss 1 or more incremental Nightly updates. It's as if the local build is unable to retrieve versioning/change info or something ...<br>

Last night (2011-september-21) the overlay update mechanism found under About Nightly worked well but I had to replace Nightly completely because the update was not working.<br>
I am using Mac os x 10.6.*<br>
