<div dir="ltr"><div>Hi there! <br><br>This month, we’ll be sharing out some of the highlights from this
month’s Mozilla Festival, our annual event celebrating the open web. This year, we saw close to 2,000 participants
over the course of the weekend, spread across tracks focusing on
participatory learning, data, research, and collaboration.</div>
<p>For this month's call, we’ll kick off with <a href="http://twitter.com/snowwitje">Alissa Nedossekina</a> from <a href="http://hubzero.org">HUBZero</a> at <a href="http://purdue.edu">Purdue University</a>, who ran a standing-room-only sprint session on UX, design and scientific software. <br></p><p>We’ll also hear from <a href="http://twitter.com/froggleston">Rob Davey</a> from <a href="http://tgac.ac.uk">The Genome Analysis Centre</a>, who, along with <a href="http://twitter.com/billymeinke">Billy Meinke</a> from the <a href="http://hawaii.edu">University of Hawaii</a> and our own <a href="http://twitter.com/abbycabs">Abby Cabunoc Mayes</a>, ran our first <a href="https://www.mozillascience.org/coming-to-mozfest-2015-open-research-accelerator">Open Research Accelerator</a>, where they gave hands-on help on <a href="http://slides.com/billymeinke/mozora-workshop#/">how to run an open source science project</a>. <br></p><p>And lastly, we’ll hear from two of our Mozilla fellows, <a href="http://twitter.com/leejoeyk">Joey Lee</a> and <a href="http://twitter.com/blahah404">Richard Smith-Unna</a>, on their experiences at the festival and their most recent project to visualize participants’ journeys over the weekend.</p>
