<li>GitHub has made available their new <a

for GitHub</a> which will help teachers streamline the
administrative tasks related to running large courses.</li>
<li><a href="http://www.penguinwatch.org/"
data-mce-href="http://www.penguinwatch.org/">Penguin Watch</a>
could use your help. Take a moment to join this citizen science
project relaunched on the <a href="https://www.zooniverse.org/"
data-mce-href="https://www.zooniverse.org/">Zooniverse</a>
crowdsourcing site and count some penguins in remote regions.</li>
<li><a href="http://hackerhours.org/"
data-mce-href="http://hackerhours.org/">Hacker Hours</a>
offers some great resources for anyone interested in GitHub,
finding projects, getting a job, + open source. No matter what
skill level you're at they have some great tips & tricks.

through their material</a> - there's something for everyone.</li>

<h2>Grants</h2>
<ul>
<li><a href="https://cos.io/" data-mce-href="https://cos.io/">The
Center for Open Science (COS)</a> has awarded 29 grants
totally $300k to advance openness, integrity and
reproducibility. These grants are divided into two categories:
Incubator and Integration grants. Find a list of the grants and

<h2>At the Science Lab</h2>

<li>Please welcome <a href="https://twitter.com/shefw"

to the Mozilla Science Lab team as our first Open Data Training
Lead. Steph has a <a
href="https://www.mozillascience.org/welcoming-our-first-open-data-training-lead"
data-mce-href="https://www.mozillascience.org/welcoming-our-first-open-data-training-lead">solid
background in data</a> and will be working with the team on
developing an open data training program for science. Welcome
Steph !</li>
<li>The Science Lab hosted it's first <a
href="https://www.mozillascience.org/open-science-summit-2015"
data-mce-href="https://www.mozillascience.org/open-science-summit-2015">Open
Science Leadership Summit</a> in Toronto on Sept 21-23 to
bring together community leaders to workshop resources and build
supports through participation workshopping, group skillshare,
project work and mingling with other open science advocates.
Thank you to all the <a

data-mce-href=""https://www.mozillascience.org/open-science-summit-2015#participants">participants</a>
that were able to joined us. We're currently reviewing all the
work from the 2.5 days and preparing some resources to share.

<li>Kaitlin Thaney, Director of the Mozilla Science Lab, gave a

Mayes spoke about <a

data-mce-href="http://acabunoc.github.io/open-science-strangeloop-2015/#/">how
the web is democratizing Science</a> at <a
href="http://www.thestrangeloop.com/index.html"
data-mce-href="http://www.thestrangeloop.com/index.html">Strange
Loop 2015</a> this past weekend. Take a look at their
