Subject: Intent to implement & ship: disable network predictor prefetch
To: release-drivers at mozilla.org

Ad networks are seeing lots of duplicate impressions coming from Firefox 52
due to predictive prefetch (see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/
show_bug.cgi?id=1349921 and https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/
show_bug.cgi?id=1350005 and https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/
show_bug.cgi?id=1350032 for the details).

The system add-on to disable predictive prefetch is being tracked in
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1351082 for Firefox 52 and 52
ESR. The predictive prefetch feature will be disabled on Firefox 53 and 54
through the regular change process, and is targeted to be fixed in Firefox
