<p>Apologies for the slow response. I've been busy, but I have just
put up a patch last night, which has landed on our integration
branch today. Assuming it goes well, this should make Firefox 87,
due to be released on March 23. However, because Firefox is client
software, update rollout systems and user delay will mean that it
will be some time until the majority of users will have updated. I
don't have a good way of predicting how many users will have
updated by the end of April.</p>

<p>We would also need to patch Firefox 78 ESR separately. This is a
little tricky due to how Firefox's user data migration system
works, but I'm hopeful I can figure something out and a similar
change would go out on that branch around the same time.<br>

<p>PS: it is perhaps worth noting that the http option is only
showing up for users whose Firefox user profile was created using
a build of Firefox prior to the change, around Firefox 66/68 - so
not all Firefox users are affected. Unfortunately, we did not
migrate existing profiles at the time that change was made. I
don't know how many people would be in either configuration.<br>
