Hi,

<Please redirect to right group if this isn't one.>

I have been using e10s mode in my nightly for a while now. I have two computers and in one of them, I notice this situation a lot.

Observation:

Complete Firefox UI hangs. Child and parent process inclusive.

Task Manager shows 100% CPU usage for the Child process. If the property dom.ipc.processCount is more than 1, then only 1 of the child process will show 100% CPU

If you kill the child process showing 100% CPU usage in task manager, 1 or more tabs crash (depending uponĀ how many tabs are in the child process) which can be restored through UI

Trigger:

This happens intermittently and I could only find out 1 pattern that _sometimes_ leads to the issue: Network calls. Any action related to network call is a possible trigger for this kind of hang. For ex. page reload/navigation/XHR based popup etc.

Moreover, this only happens in one of my machines. Both machines are Windows 10 latest release build, Firefox Nightly.

This happens with both 32 bit and 64 bit nightly on one of the machine but never (for as long as i know) on the other one.

I know the above information is all vague, but mailing here so that others who have observed the same thing might chip in.

--

Girish Sharma
