<p>Sorry for the long delay in the reply.</p>
<p>Few examples of we can do it a test?</p>
<p>Actually we have <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://github.com/aswan/connectNative-example">https://github.com/aswan/connectNative-example</a>
to test it but have a mdn page about how to use without jump to
that readme and wiki to use that api will useful for the testing.</p>
<p>Also have other extensions that use it that API (from chrome as
example) so we don't need to develop new extensions only for test
it.</p>
<p>PS: I opened that
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://github.com/aswan/connectNative-example/issues/1">https://github.com/aswan/connectNative-example/issues/1</a> and
chatted with aswan (sorry I don't remember the name) to add more
docs.</p>

<pre wrap="">In Firefox 50 we've landed support for runtime.connectNative in
WebExtensions. This allows you to connect to a native application on
the host machine from WebExtensions. Native messaging is core to some
add-ons especially around security and password manager add-ons, so we
know this API is of interest.
We are looking for testers who are willing to give our implementation
a poke and see if they can find some bugs or issues that might be
problems. Some basic documentation is here [1]:
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://wiki.mozilla.org/WebExtensions/Native_Messaging">https://wiki.mozilla.org/WebExtensions/Native_Messaging</a>
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/WebExtensions/API/Runtime/connectNative">https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/WebExtensions/API/Runtime/connectNative</a>
Because some users will use this as replacement for NPAPI [2], which
is aiming for removal in Firefox 52, we'd like to do some battle
testing of the API.
If you have questions about the API we having a mailing list and an
IRC channel (#webextensions) [3], we'll be happy to help... and if you
find a bug please file it in Bugzilla Toolkit > WebExtensions [4].
