Like Dirkjan said, we have an automated tool that assigns someone randomly to every PR that is opened against servo/servo. This random selection is taken from a list of reviewers who have agreed to be part of the random selection pool (it's generally expected that full-time employees will participate), and it's up to the person assigned to either review the changes or reassign to someone else more suitable.

Cheers,

Josh

On 13 April 2016 at 20:54, Emma Humphries <emma@mozilla.com> wrote:

On Wed, Apr 13, 2016 at 5:50 PM, Gregory Szorc <gps@mozilla.com> wrote:

meh. I don't think triage is the optimal solution to this general problem. The general problem is more than just UX: it is "who is the appropriate person to look at X" where X could be a mock-up, a patch for review, etc. And you can go a step further: "I have X, what do I do with it" where "do" could involve filing a bug, submitting a code review, etc. Today, you could write a patch to improve a Firefox feature and you would have no clue what bug component to file it under or who to ask for review. You should be able to write a patch and throw it over a figurative wall and let the tools deal with it - filing a bug in the appropriate component and selecting a reviewer automatically. This is something that Servo's contribution workflow excels at.

Could you elaborate on Servo's contribution workflow?
