FWIW I seem to recall something along these lines, followed by a
similar conclusion to an <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="about:config">about:config</a> pref; no way to do it without
add-ons automating the process and doing it themselves, thus nulling
the protection altogether.<br>

I could be wrong though so don't take my word for it, as I can't
find out where I'm remembering this from. I think it was at the
mozilla.addons.user-experience mailing list, I took a quick look to
see if I could find the post(s), but there's so much in there
already...<br>
