I'm not 100% sure, but I am sure that when Sync does a bookmarks backup (which is janky - bug 1186714) the animation does stop.<span class="HOEnZb"><font color="#888888"><br>

Thanks for the reply, and I'm probably demonstrating my ignorance here,<br>
but I'm not seeing the problem with that - if an inner event-loop is<br>
running and keeping up with events, I'd still expect to see no jank -<br>
and the fact the animated icon remains smooth implies that inner<br>
event-loop is actually keeping up.<br>

I wonder though whether our nested event-loop is too naive and if there<br>
are other steps that should be taken on OSX...<br>
