      yeah this is a great idea. but the implementation seems limiting.<br>

      I don't get idea that the "profile manager is complicated" for
      people that want to change profiles though....<br>

      that feature was exposed to 60% of browser users at one point, and
      they made it through all the "complications" and were able to use
      the product (netscape circa 1998-2002)<br>

      yeah it might have been unneeded and unwanted by many that wanted
      a cleaner and faster start up.  Firefox proved that.   <br>
      <br>
      But the profile manager worked perfect for the people that did
      want it, and needed it to test web pages against a variety of
      different profile/browser settings --> web developers.<br>
      <br>
      Why do we think developers won't want to test all kinds of
      individual, and specific sets of, network and gecko setting across
      all versions of Firefox to detect how their page will work for a
      variety of users under a variety of diffrent conditions?   This
      tying of profiles to channels seems to be not helpful in reaching
      that goal.<br>
