vulnerable plugins which Firefox downloads periodically as
part of the blocklist service. It uses regular expressions
to test against the plugins that Firefox has installed and
when it finds a match it warns the user.<br>

Silverlight module, but they have an
out-of-date Microsoft Silverlight plugin
installed, Firefox will helpfully display a

attempting to use an out-of-date plugin and
that they really should update it. But how
does Firefox know what is the current version
of the plugin?<br>
