My previous comment was too negative in tone.  I should add that "mach build <dir>" + dumbmake was a huge step forward from our previous build commands, especially for new contributors, who can now get easier, faster, more correct incremental builds than before.<br>

I just think we need to take more steps in the same direction to further improve both speed and correctness for non-compiled code, just as the "binaries" target has for compiled code.<div class="HOEnZb"><div class="h5">
