Dears Sirs,
<br>
<br>
Firefox' Find in Page delivers only very basic search
capabilities.
<br>
<br>
I often miss regular expressions (POSIX style) or at least the '|'
operator, that allows to search for multiple strings plus a
'search for complete word' option.
<br>
<br>
I would also appreciate a history for the last, let's say 8 search
strings.
<br>
<br>
Another feature a basic synchronisation between the current read
position in the page and the start position of a search. If I'm
reading at 75% of the page, it is not too unlikely that I'm
interested on search results starting from that position.
<br>
<br>
And, last not least: It would be great, if it the "search as you
type" behavior could be disabled. Image you want search the last
occurence of the string 'Answer' before the current position. The
likelihood of "search as you type" taking you somewhere at the
begin of the after you typed "Ans" is 1, forcing you to search
starting from the top until you passed you previous position,
finally being able to search upward.
<br>
<br>
I've not subscribed to the dev-apps-firefox mailing list, so I
would very much appreciate when you would cc me in an ongoing
discussion.
<br>
<br>
Thanks in advance.
<br>
<br>
Sincerely
<br>
Norbert Junghenn
