> I consider myself a Java head, but I never liked member variables coming into the scope of methods. The explicitness and symmetry (when having an argument whose type is the same as that of "this" [e.g. in Java equals() methods]) [of mandatory "this"] are great. For me, regularity is more important for my brain’s decoding speed than seeing less characters.
