Mark answered on Object.hashcode already. Here's the old ES4 proposal:

It has the desired security properties, TC39 members agreed a couple of meetings ago. This helped break a logjam over adding unencapsulated Object.hashcode as a strawman (yet we still have no strawman page on it, just the ES4 page :-/).

A collection implementation will want an identity test to resolve collisions, but === isn't quite right. Wherefore egal, or let's call it Object.identity -- only if Object.hashcode is added too.
