<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-GB">We are currently testing the new Firefox ESR 78.3.1 and deployed to a small number of users. We have found for a couple of installs the user now gets the error message “The code execution cannot
proceed because VCRuntime140_1.dll was not found” when loading Firefox.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-GB">We tried removing the install, renaming user profiles and reinstalling but got the same error.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-GB"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-GB">We downloaded the full non ESR release of Firefox and ran the install but got the same error.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-GB"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-GB">We checked previous version installs and found that VCRuntime140.dll was in the install folder and this machine also had this file but it was looking for VCRuntime140_1.dll.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-GB"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-GB">To resolve the issue we had copy VCRuntime140_1.dll from c:\windows\systems32 to “c:\program files\Mozilla Firefox”.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
