<p>It may be happening when I upgrade from an 32bit to a 64bit, but
I'm not sure. I'll check this on the next ones I do.</p>
<p>I don't think x64 should install in c:\program files
(x86)\mozilla firefox because that would be really confusing. <br>

<p>So after reading this article, is it saying that I need to add<br>
</p>
<p> set MOZ_LEGACY_PROFILES=1</p>
<p>Prior to running the new install for the first time?</p>
<p>Does it need to be set permanently or just for the first run?</p>
<p>I think this article could be improved. For instance this
sentence:</p>
<p>"The changes to profile selection can be reverted by setting the
environment variable MOZ_LEGACY_PROFILES."</p>
<p>Setting it to what? There needs to be an example to make this
clear. <br>

<p>I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about computers and
Windows, but I'm completely lost by this explanation.</p>
<p>Is there a way to submit changes to the documentation pages? </p>
<p>I assume that MOZ_ALLOW_DOWNGRADE doesn't apply in my case, since
I'm installing the same or later version.</p>

80% of the time it creates a new profile (sometimes it
tells me, sometimes I have to notice it on my own). Very
frustrating.</p>
