<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:windowtext;mso-fareast-language:EN-US">As a general rule, we don’t uninstall Firefox when a new version is installed. In SCCM, there’s a field for a command line (that should auto-populate if you are packaging an MSI)
for how SCCM can uninstall the application you are configuring for deployment. With an .exe file like Firefox you have to manually populate this, so I thought it worth mentioning. In Firefox we don’t usually use this (apart from the switch from 32-bit to
64-bit, when we had to uninstall the 32-bit). <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:windowtext;mso-fareast-language:EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:windowtext;mso-fareast-language:EN-US">However, bitter experience has taught me to always ensure this is populated when you are initially set up any application in SCCM. We use a phased rollout for testing, so hopefully
any issues are picked up before the application is installed on too many machines. However, if an issue is detected and the uninstall line hasn’t been populated, you either need to update the package, then redistribute it before SCCM can uninstall it, or
go around each machine and manually uninstall it. <shrugs>. Call it a small amount of effort for insurance. You don’t have to populate it if you like living dangerously…
