in actually getting the problem fixed, free-software maintainer I've
personally seen in action in the past... half-decade, probably, if not
ever.

I was comparing my interaction with you a couple of weeks back regarding
MOZ_LEGACY_PROFILES against one I've had with a particular
proprietary-software company. I engaged with them on their forums about
a week prior to that, and have gotten no response even yet, never mind a
fix for the problem; I engaged with you on that mailing list on the
21st, and thirty-six minutes later we'd traded mails back and forth at
least twice and I had a fix for the problem in hand.

The contrast is striking.
