But 'ExtensionSettings' suffer of the same problem, in my opinion, of
the json file: a big registry entry/GPO with a blob of json inside, not the
ability to do some fine grained setup, as for the 'split file'
policy.json i invoke.

Exactly what i need.

OK. I don't want to be rude or controversial, sorry for my bad english,
but this is a thing that the new extensions management seems do 'less' of
the previous one...
Also, a final question: Supposing to use 'Extensions' and 'ExtensionUpdate
= 1', pointing extensions to a local path, eg:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Mozilla\Thunderbird\Extensions\Install]
"1"="//%ProgramFiles%/Mozilla Firefox/extensions/lookout at s3_fix_version.xpi"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Mozilla\Thunderbird\Extensions\Locked]
"1"="lookout at s3_fix_version"
What control on the extensions version i have? The local filesystem
version is honoured, or still the extension will be updated from the online
repository?
Thanks.
