[Mozilla Enterprise] Stop Firefox from creating a new profile on upgrade

It may be happening when I upgrade from an 32bit to a 64bit, but I'm not
sure. I'll check this on the next ones I do.
I don't think x64 should install in c:\program files (x86)\mozilla
firefox because that would be really confusing.
So after reading this article, is it saying that I need to add
set MOZ_LEGACY_PROFILES=1
Prior to running the new install for the first time?
Does it need to be set permanently or just for the first run?
I think this article could be improved. For instance this sentence:
"The changes to profile selection can be reverted by setting the
environment variable MOZ_LEGACY_PROFILES."
Setting it to what? There needs to be an example to make this clear.
I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about computers and Windows, but
I'm completely lost by this explanation.
Is there a way to submit changes to the documentation pages?
I assume that MOZ_ALLOW_DOWNGRADE doesn't apply in my case, since I'm
installing the same or later version.
Thanks for your help Mike.
