Hello,

what is the impact of the new feature "Dedicated profiles per Firefox
installation" is for the upcoming ESR 68?

Is every ESR 68.x version a new version?

 From
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/dedicated-profiles-firefox-installation#w_what-are-profiles

it seems so:

"Beginning with Firefox version 67, Firefox will use a dedicated profile
for each installation of Firefox (including Nightly, Beta, Developer
Edition, and ESR installations)"

We deploy firefox on windows clients by removing/purgings old versions
und redeploy firefox by choosing x86/x64 / language / Version (esr or
standard, at the moment 60.7.0 or 67.0)

For upgrading to 67.0 we mad a ugly workaround creating the installs.ini
and patching the profile.ini to prevent users from "loosing" their profiles.

So from my point of view it would be great

to have a policy or another scriptable way to disable the "dedicated
profile" feature

kind regards,
Bardo Wolf
