[Mozilla Enterprise] Firefox Quantum add-ons Signature required

I thought that the “xpinstall.enabled = false” will disable the ability to install add-ons. How are you able to still install add-ons? I don’t actually have the xpinstall.enabled preference setting set in Firefox. I have a customer, that re-developed his add-on with the new Webextension API and when he tries to intall it, he gets the “can’t install because it’s not verified” error.

Was it a WebExtension or a legacy add-on?

I just verified that settings xpinstall.enabled to false allowed a WebExtension to be installed even though it is not signed.

Legacy add-ons are no longer supported.

That preference only works on the ESR.
