[Mozilla Enterprise] Firefox and Java

Mike,

As noted, ESR 52 and JRE 7 seem to work with all of the web applications that call any of our Java based applets, although the one I’m most concerned about is a digital signature applet.  To be honest, I’m not even sure if there are other applets, but there are multiple applications that use the same signing applet.

I have verified that for JRE 8u171, both npjp2.dll (JRE) and npdeployJava1.dll (Java Deployment Toolkit) both show up in about:plugins as enabled.

That's really odd. Do other applets work with Java 7 and Firefox 52?

Do you see the right things when you go to about:plugins?

Does anyone have any ideas why this might be?  The configurations of the different versions are the same in each case, so I don't think it's a settings issue.  Is there perhaps some protocol or some other setting that has been deprecated in either product that somehow is preventing the applet from running?  Any ideas how to troubleshoot?
